Day 3 São Miguel De Arcos to Barcelos +-19km’s
I woke up hungry after a reasonably good night of sleep. Rob always sleeps a lot more than I do, lucky man.
The breakfast on offer was substantial with all the necessary protein and carbohydrates needed for Pilgrims. Thanks to Johnnie Walker for recommending Quinta São Miguel De Arcos.
Happy faces when we set off at 8:45am down the little road with small holdings.
The Caminho signs have changed to the Central route and now more frequent.
Good to see pin cushion proteas on this route. Many can found in the gardens.
São Pedro De Rates, named after Saint Peter of Rates. Also known as Saint Peter of Braga as he was the first Bishop of Braga ordained by Santiago (St James).
Largo De Santo Antonio.
Door of the day.
We unfortunately did not have a enough farm roads underfoot today.
More than 208km’s for us as we planning on taking a longer route.
The corn fields are looking good.
Inca Lily’s in bloom.
Mr Lizard taking up residence on a Camino arrow.
Ruins in Pedra Furada.
Santa Cruz Chapel.
Way too many cobblestone streets.
Crossing river Cávado to Barcelos.
We checked in at the In Barcelos Hostel & Guesthouse for the night.
Three course meal for €5, the cherries straight from the tree.
