Day 6 Ponte De Lima to São Roque +-19km’s

I woke up to the sound of rain, fortunately it was short lived.

Ponte De Lima was transformed into one very large market, it’s the Nativity of St John the Baptist in Portugal today.

The route was absolutely beautiful taking us through beautiful forests and farmlands.

We encountered our first elevation that reminded me of Primitivo and Del Norte only a lot shorter.

Ponte De Lima this morning.

Leaving Ponte De Lima.

Arcozelo

Plums were plentiful walking through Arcozelo. Growing on the side of the road.

Door of the day.

Signs we find along the way.

Rob getting pics of us leaving Arco.

Navigating mud, the first time on this Camino.

I felt so sorry for this guy, he carries three bikes up the rocky forest. The elderly couple ahead of him could not do it. He was their Camino Angel.

Cruz dos Franceses.

The last bit up.

Finally at the top and happy.

Then we ate. Family run mobile food truck. The SA flag was on it and we were starving.

Elderly couple walking.

Walking into São Roque.

The Pharmacy sign.

Our home for the night Albergue Constantino.

  1. The type of terrain you covered on this day is what I like walking too. Envious.
